The Agenzia per le Erogazioni in Agricoltura (AGEA) is both Italian Coordinating Body of the 11 Italian Payment Agencies and Payment Agency as accredited by the Competent Authority in according with the annex I of the EU Regulation No 907/2014. The Agency works at the instigation of ministries and the European Union.
AGEA on providing services to farmer/beneficiary and support the Italian Payment Agency harmonizing the CAP and IACS rules in the national context. The Agency works with the beneficiaries/farmers and abroad with governments, knowledge centres, international organisations and countless other partners.
AGEA carry out on the sport control in particular using remote sensing in all the Italy territory in order to determine the eligibility of the EU CAP schemes/measures requirements. Also AGEA is encourages beneficiaries, farmers association and its organisational in sustainable, agricultural, innovative and international business. It helps with application and grants, finding business partners, know-how and compliance with laws and regulations.

Key persons involved
Salvatore Carfì is acting head of EU AGEA office in Brussels and coordinator of WP4. He has a lot of expertise in EU legislation, especially IACS, since he has worked as team leader in more than 15 EU project on IACS technical assistance and Twinnings as from 2001.
Francesco Sofia is the Head of IACS unit of AGEA and supervisor and has a lot of experience in exchange data between Payment Agencies for the IACS implementation.
