On the 19th of January 2021 NIVA hosted the webinar “FaST Tool and FMIs/Field Book”. The central theme of this webinar were the tools that support the farmers and improve the agricultural sector. Around 150 participants joined this webinar.
After a short introduction by Folkwin Poelman (RVO) on the programme of the webinar the floor was taken by Isidro Campos-Rodriquez (DG AGRI). In his presentation “FaST Tool in the Common Agricultural Policy” Isidro gave an impression of the context of the Farm Sustainability Tool for Nutrients (FaST Tool) and how it can boost innovation and sustainability in the agricultural sector.
Jane Jäger (ARIB) told the audience about the use of the Field Book in Estonia. In her presentation Jane told about the legislative basis of the Fieldbook before getting into more detail about the format and requirements of this mandatory Fieldbook. Finally, a better impression of the content (dataset) of the Fieldbook was presented.
The final presentation was delivered by Fabio Slaviero (Abaco), in which he gave an impression of the Farmer Platform. Abaco’s Farmer Platform is built for and with farmers. In his presentation an impression was shared how the Farmer Platform can support the farmer in the daily work and management of the farm.
